Guess what an illustration board and felt paper put together can turn into when put in these guys' magic hands?? Yup , you guessed right! POKER TABLES!

This puts a whole new meaning in LOW COST.

Advice to the guys: Don't quit your day jobs.

The Chips Has Arrived

Many thanks to the lovable Emil Tan of the MM batch, who is kind enough to let us borrow his poker set. This will be part of his legacy for the quest of that elusive AIM Poker Nights.

JM Patino of MBA Batch/Cohort 2 will provide us with another poker set for our soft opening.
I'm expecting you guys to be there.

Soft Opening

AIM Poker Nights Soft Opening this Saturday November 29, 2008.

Personally I like it Hard at the get go but we'll let the poker boys strut their stuff
this Saturday night. They probably want to sort out the kinks in their operations.

I hear the guys in Cohort 2 have WAC#9 and I hear the guys in Cohort 3 have an OM
exam. well good luck to all, but don't use all your luck on those tests guys, let them spill
over to the poker tables.

Too bad for MM guys who have to go to Batangas... We'll miss them.
We'll keep their poker seats warm for them.

Know When To QUIT

You know what they say 'Winners never quit and Quitters never win' but here at AIM Poker Nights they value your time. Players are not obligated to stay the whole time because we know you got cases to read and CAN Group meetings to go to.

So just drop by whenever you got the time and have a little break from those thick case readings.

Rules To Exit

1 ROUND Notification:

You know when you're going, so please notify the dealer that you will be leaving 1 round before you actually need to go.

Pay-up

If you really need to go cuz your groupmate is calling you, just add a small and a big blind to sweeten the pot.

if you don't have to leave then by all means stay and enjoy the company of your friends.
And I know that the best guys are the ones that never leaves a girl hanging.

RANKINGS

Personally the only ranking that I am interested in is the top 100 sexiest guys in the world but to make poker nights more interesting there will be a ranking system for our poker players.
Everyone who plays will be automatically part of the ranking system.

How does it work??

it will be a point system based on the amount of chips you win or lose.
Points awarded each night will be the difference between total chips cashed out and total chip
bought

EX: Buy-in = 400 chips
Cash out = 550 chips
Points = Cash out - Buy in
= 550 - 400
= 150 points

so rack up the points guys because everyone knows bigger is better.

POKER HANDLES

Everyone who wants to play at the AIM Poker Nights will get his or her own Poker Handle. A Codename of sorts. Players get to choose only once so better be sure it has a nice ring to it.

This is the most exciting thing that ever happened since Tom Cruise played Maverick in Top GUN. For all those too young to remember... rent the DVD!

So think of the coolest codename you can think of.
I already have mine...do you have yours??

Show Me the MONEY

It really turns me on when guys drive in their hot cars and spend insanely huge amount of money on yours truly. But I know most of you, young MBA soon-to-be graduates, are down roughly 1.2million in student loans. Don't fret I know you can earn it back once we get out of the institute.

For the meantime the poker night guys offers an INITIAL Buy In of 100 php and a minimum additional buy in of 50 php so that everyone can join the fun.

CHIP CONVERSION

The poker night guys have decided to give 4x for the chip conversion.
which means that for your 100 php, you get 400 worth of chips.

CASHING OUT

My favorite part of the night... winners cashing out.
All chips will be acounted for and will be converted back to pesos.
10% will go to the HOUSE

For Poker Nights to become a staple in our student life we need to give back to these guys.

TEXAS HOLD 'EM

Howdy cowboys and cowgirls, we're playin Texas Hold 'Em at AIM Poker Nights!!
For the poker virgins out there, here's how to play...

At the beginning of every game, each player is dealt 2 pocket cards face-down with 5 community cards dealt face-up. The strategy is to obtain the best hand using any 5 of the 7 dealt cards, whether the combination is a player's 2 down cards and 3 table cards, 1 pocket card and 4 table cards, or all 5 table cards. Any 5-card poker combination out of 7 is accepted. High hand wins.

sounds easy? good! so bring your cowbells and come on over to the party. you don't want to be the one left out.

POKER BASICS

For all the poker virgins out there here is a little poker 101 for you so you wont be left out.

poker basics:

All poker games in the AIM POKER NIGHTS use a standard pack of 52 playing cards ranked in the following order: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Typically, each game begins with an ante. Texas Hold 'Em starts off with two players to the left of the dealer as the blinds. There is a small blind and big blind that are there to build the pot. Afterwards, the betting options are as follows:

Option 1- Call- Betting enough to match the rate of the current or last bet on the table.
Option 2- Raise- Betting more chips than the rate of the current bet.
Option 3- Check- Checking means to pass on your option to bet. You are not out of the hand, but you have chosen not to put any money in the middle.
Option 4- Fold- Dropping out of the current game. Typically, you do this when you don't think that your hand has a reasonable chance of winning. In this way, you can conserve your chips for better hands that you will have later on.

Once all the bets have been called, the players remaining in the game show their cards. The best hand wins the pot.

If you can't understand it by reading it, then your reading too many cases for far too long.
just come and join the table, I'm sure the boys will be more than eager to help.

POKER NIGHTS

Welcome to AIM POKER NIGHTS!

Hello AIM students. We've had a horrible month. Tests, cases, and papers, all work and no play makes for a dull mba student. It's getting to be a little boring here at the institute, thankfully someone decided to spice things up. Cards, chips, and booze and we got ourselves a stress relieving recipe for poker nights. Be ready for it next week. I hear it's going to be long and wild, just the way I like it.
