POKER NIGHTS CANCELED

Poker Nights for February 05, 2009 is canceled due to the Poker Boys preparation for their
Strategic Negotiations Class the next day. The boys are really into this subject and are currently trying to outdo the other in terms of class performance. I heard from the boys that this simulation class being conducted by prof. Confessor and prof. DeVera is one of their best electives by far.


Regular Poker Night will resume on Saturday.

Unless of course someone from Cohort 3 takes the their place for one night.
will someone step up or we'll just wait for the Poker Boys on Saturday?

AIM Pokernights Logo Prototype

Hey guys, the Poker Boys were thinking of what kind of logo AIM Poker Nights should have and would really like to hear some of your ideas and suggestions.

Here is a prototype logo that Fiddy Ganzon did for the AIM Poker Nights. She said I was the inspiration for her logo. I was very flattered... thanks girl! So What do you guys think?
We really need everyone's input before the poker boys officially launch the logo.

METRO CARD CLUB

Poker Boys Ken and Mark visited the Metro Card Club in MetroWalk in Ortigas. Ken used to play at the old venue with some of his friends and this was the first time he entered the new venue which featured a huge floor area that has numerous poker table and.... a lone billiard table( hmmm maybe for this is for the guys who cant get a seat yet).

The guys met the manager (Brian) of the Metro Card Club and did a little chat about trying to hold an event in this very fine poker establishment... I wonder what the Poker Boys are cooking up.

Poker Boys to hold 1st official turorials on POKER

Due to public demand the Poker Boys will be conducting its First ever Poker Tutorial on Thursday, January 22 '09 at 10pm at the pool side of the Asian Institute Management Campus.

Poker boys will conduct a structured course on Poker so that students who participate will hopefully get a better understanding and appreciation of the sport.

As of this blog there are 10 students of MBA Cohort 3 who are willing and eager to learn Poker. For the other poker virgins out there who are interested please drop by the pool side and discover the sport through AIM Poker Nights and the ever lovable poker boys.

* Poker Tutorials will be headed by Poker Boys Dindo and Ken
* AIM Poker Nights is still on regular schedule (Thurs 9:30pm and Sat 9:30pm)

New Entrants Steal Show; Arora Leads the Pack

I heard that AIM Poker Nights has increased its total player base to 21 players. The new entrants seemed to be holding very well on their own as they did very well in the December 5 outing. Guess the new kids on the block want to show they can play with the big boys.

Arora, playing with a lot of guts and a lot of luck, leads all players with 2220 points. 3rdRocSun performed very well after his dismal performance last Sunday grabbing the second spot of the rankings. PimpAss Paradise started the games with his aggressive tactics and continued to rake in the chips to secure the third spot. PimpAss Paradise is followed closely by Pythogoras and the ever lovable "P".

Our previous leader, Le Chiffre, drops down to the number 6th spot and Mystery takes a dive from being the previous number 2 spot to 12th spot. I guess this just wasn't their night.

The boys of MBA batch 3 seemed to be a little distracted... is it because of Poker Boys' Guest Dealer?? Well next time boys keep your eye on the prize. I know The Canadian will come back with a vengence (or with his sunglasses) and represent the MBA batch 3.

Le Chiffre Sweeps Off With First Night Winnings

Mr. Cynical was the 1st one taken out but re-buys for P100, followed by his partner in crime Scarlet Spyder. Till the end of the game the following players taken out in order:

Mr. Cynical

Mystery took an early chip lead. Le Chiffre catches up and starts to wittle down his opponents by “sweetening the pot”, a little trick he learned from Baguio.
Pythogoras cashes out just as Mothership takes a seat and before the bets got too sweet

Le Chiffre ends up as 1st place for 12/1 poker night showing everyone how he got his handle. Mystery had a very good start but didn’t have the endurance for the long haul. Tsk tsk, you know what girls say about that Mr. Mystery.

Mothership shows that you don’t have to be a man to rise to the top of the world, a girl after my own heart. Seems Mothership and I have something in common, we both want to be on top. At the bottom is Mr. Cynical, I guess he still has a lot to be cynical about.

The people responsible for Poker Nights at the Asian Institute of Management has surprised us once again, this time showing us their incredible talent in arts and crafts.

Guess what an illustration board and felt paper put together can turn into when put in these guys' magic hands?? Yup , you guessed right! POKER TABLES!

This puts a whole new meaning in LOW COST.

Many thanks to the lovable Emil Tan of the MM batch, who is kind enough to let us borrow his poker set. This will be part of his legacy for the quest of that elusive AIM Poker Nights.

Soft Opening

AIM Poker Nights Soft Opening this Saturday November 29, 2008.

Personally I like it Hard at the get go but we'll let the poker boys strut their stuff
this Saturday night. They probably want to sort out the kinks in their operations.

I hear the guys in Cohort 2 have WAC#9 and I hear the guys in Cohort 3 have an OM
exam. well good luck to all, but don't use all your luck on those tests guys, let them spill
over to the poker tables.

Too bad for MM guys who have to go to Batangas... We'll miss them.
We'll keep their poker seats warm for them.

Welcome to AIM POKER NIGHTS!

Hello AIM students. We've had a horrible month. Tests, cases, and papers, all work and no play makes for a dull mba student. It's getting to be a little boring here at the institute, thankfully someone decided to spice things up. Cards, chips, and booze and we got ourselves a stress relieving recipe for poker nights. Be ready for it next week. I hear it's going to be long and wild, just the way I like it.
